Advanced Oxford has joined the Growing Together Alliance, a national collaboration between regional business organisations working to promote balanced and sustainable growth across the UK.
The Alliance brings together six founding partners – the Northern Powerhouse Partnership, BusinessLDN, Business South, Business West, Cambridge Ahead and the North West Business Leadership Team – with Advanced Oxford joining as the newest member. Together, the group is united by a shared belief that the UK can only succeed if all its regions grow together.
Driving connected, evidence-based growth
Advanced Oxford’s membership will strengthen the Alliance’s focus on innovation and research translation, drawing on Oxfordshire’s expertise in science, technology and collaboration between business and academia.
The Growing Together Alliance aims to drive “good growth” through greater cooperation between regional economies, sharing insight and evidence, and supporting government to develop place-based economic strategies. Its recent Connected Clusters report, produced with the Bennett Institute for Public Policy at the University of Cambridge, highlighted how partnerships between regional innovation ecosystems can unlock productivity, investment and opportunity across the country.
Strengthening collaboration through the OxCam corridor
Advanced Oxford’s work already focuses on fostering innovation within Oxfordshire and across the wider Oxford–Cambridge (OxCam) arc. Joining the Growing Together Alliance complements this mission by connecting local and regional initiatives to national networks, ensuring that investment in research, innovation and skills delivers benefits that reach beyond individual regions.
A shared vision for regional prosperity
The Growing Together Alliance recently announced a new partnership with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), exploring how investment in the Oxford–Cambridge Growth Corridor can deliver benefits across the UK. This partnership reflects the Alliance’s commitment to practical, data-led collaboration that supports both local and national economic priorities.
Advanced Oxford’s participation will ensure that the voice of Oxfordshire’s innovation economy is represented in these national discussions, helping to shape future policy and investment decisions.
