Building the skills and talent pipeline for Oxfordshire’s innovation ecosystem
Advanced Oxford is undertaking an examination of skills and talent requirements across Oxfordshire’s innovation ecosystem, building on our findings from Powering Up for the Green Recovery, where skills issues were identified as both an enabler and a challenge for growing companies. This research project will examine what skills gaps currently exist, what roles companies struggle to fill and where companies find their talent.
The Attract, Retain, Grow study will also examine the anticipated skills requirements/new skills that will be required over the next 2 – 5 years. As well as looking at hard to fill scientific and technical skills, we are also looking to understand how early stage scientific and technical skills are acquired, with a particular focus on the use of apprenticeships. The project will also assess the impact of Brexit on skills and talent acquisition and retention. Attract, retain, grow – scoping document
