Horizon Europe – Collaboration funding opportunities

Workshops are being run in the areas of
  • Climate, Energy and Mobility – 14th May 
  • Health – 19th May
  • Food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture and environment – 17th May
  • Digital, Industry and Space – to be advised

University of Oxford is offering the opportunity to join a series of on-line workshops on collaborative funding opportunities in the first two years of Horizon Europe – the new EU funding programme for research and innovation.

The workshops are being given by the UK National Contact Points for various themed areas of the Horizon Europe work programme and the discussion will therefore not focus exclusively on collaboration opportunities with University of Oxford, but will be UK wide.  Interested companies and organisations with links to the University are invited to join the workshops.

Climate, energy and mobility

Friday 14 May 10am – 11.30am Climate focuses on actions that further sustainability goals. Themes around – Climate science and moving towards climate neutrality – Climate transitions in batteries and other breakthrough technologies – Renewable energy – Energy-efficient buildings – Zero/low-emission transport

Food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture and environment

Monday 17 May 10am – 11.30am Opportunities to enhance and balance environmental, social and economic goals and to set human economic activities on a path towards sustainability. Calls focus on: – Biodiversity and ecosystem services – Fair, healthy, environmentally friendly food systems – Circular economy and bioeconomy – Clean environment/zero pollution – Land, ocean and water climate action – Resilient, inclusive, healthy, green rural, coastal and urban communities – Innovative governance, environmental observations and digital solutions to support the Green Deal

Wednesday 19 May, 10am–11.30am Health calls are grouped around: – Staying healthy in a rapidly changing society – Living and working in a health promoting environment – Tackling diseases and reducing the disease burden – Access to healthcare – New tools, technologies and digital solutions for a healthy society – Innovative, sustainable and competitive health industry Health related opportunities elsewhere in the Horizon Europe programme will also be highlighted.

Digital, industry and space

Calls are focused around – Climate neutral, circular and digitised production – Increased autonomy in value chains – Data and computing technologies – Digital and emerging technologies to support the Green Deal (eg robotics) – Space – Human centred, ethical development of digital and industrial technologies.

This post will be updated when a date and link is confirmed.

The workshops will –

  • Explain the context for the calls in the specific area
  • Briefly introduce the call topic areas for 2021 and 2022
  • Explain the main differences in approach between Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe proposals

Each workshop will be given by the UK National Contact Point expert in the specific thematic area. The NCPs will also explain the help they can give to researchers and PIs planning an application.
