The steel framework is rising on Phase One of Grove Business Park’s expansion in Wantage, with Bidwells joining Savills on the agency team. The development will deliver “Technology/R&D/Lab-enabled accommodation totalling 87,500 sq ft (8,130 sqm) to be known as Logica 1, Logica 2 and Sigma,” with new buildings available from Summer 2026.
Logica 1 and Logica 2 will provide flexible mid-tech units of up to 31,226 sq ft, while Sigma offers a hybrid design for Office, Lab and R&D users with space up to 25,144 sq ft. In total, Grove Business Park has consent for “377,000 sq ft (35,000 sq m) of new space to create a modern hub for life sciences, technology and innovation businesses, with the aspiration to provide up to 2,500 jobs.”
Will Lawrie, Head of Property Management at Oxford University Endowment Management Ltd, said: “This is a significant milestone to reach in the project and it’s great to see the vision of increased scale, quality and amenity at the Park coming together, creating new opportunities in the life sciences, innovation and technology sectors.”
The Oxford Endowment Fund acquired the 260,000 sq ft site in 2022 with a clear ambition to enhance its role as a “strategic site within the Oxfordshire Science Vale,” building on its history of innovation and providing improved amenities, landscaping and connections to the wider community.
Construction company Barnwood, SRA Architects and atlp consulting are leading the delivery of the project. Commenting on progress, Barnwood CEO Simon Carey said: “Grove Business Park has a growing reputation and we are delighted they have chosen Barnwood to help deliver this exciting new vision for the Park.”
Already home to a diverse mix of businesses, Grove Business Park’s expansion strengthens its position as a focal point for life sciences, R&D and technology companies, while creating high-quality employment opportunities for Wantage, the district and the wider Oxfordshire Science Vale.
