East West Rail consultation opens 14th November

Following the Chancellor’s confirmation of Government support for the East – West rail project in this year’s budget, non-statutory consultation will start on Thursday 14 November 2024.

The consultation will allow East West Rail to present their latest design concepts, including areas where they are considering alternative options. Feedback gathered during the consultation will help them further develop and refine designs, which will then be presented at a statutory consultation.

There are going to be two in-person events in Oxfordshire –

  • 19th November at Oxford Town Hall, 2pm – 7pm
  • 21st November at John Paul II Centre in Bicester,  2pm – 7pm

If you can’t attend an event in person, there are three online events will give you a chance to understand more about the proposals and ask questions. Details on how to sign up for the online events will be published here on 14th November.

  • 20 November 2024, 2:30pm – 4:30pm
  • 10 December 2024, 6pm – 8pm
  • 9 January 2025, 10am – 12pm

East West Rail would connect communities between Oxford, Milton Keynes, Bedford and Cambridge, supporting sustainable economic growth in the area. The new railway would make it easier to reach jobs, education, public services and days out.
