Advanced Oxford welcomes IP specialist Mathys & Squire into our membership

IP specialist Mathys & Squire joins Advanced Oxford as we create a new Sponsor membership to bring professional services firms into our work to grow Oxfordshire’s innovation economy

Advanced Oxford is delighted to welcome Mathys & Squire as a new sponsor member and as an active contributor to our work to support the development of Oxfordshire’s innovation ecosystem.  The Oxford-based team is already working with Advanced Oxford to provide data on intellectual property activity as part of Advanced Oxford’s ‘Innovation Stocktake 2022’ project (https://www.advancedoxford.com/project/stock-take-2022/).

Mathys & Squire is one of four new members that Advanced Oxford is welcoming into the group. Law firm, Taylor Vinters and property consultants CBRE are also joining as sponsor members, alongside new member, consulting engineering firm, Hoare Lea.

To date Advanced Oxford has only had one form of membership, open to companies, organisations or institutions that are part of Oxfordshire’s knowledge economy.  There are other businesses within the region that play an important role in supporting innovative, research and development intensive companies, indeed our innovation ecosystem could not operate successfully without them.  There is a great opportunity for these firms to contribute to Advanced Oxford’s work, bringing their expertise and insight, drawn from their relationships with knowledge-based enterprises.  As a consequence, Advanced Oxford is pleased that a number of these professional services providers are now joining us as sponsors across all our activities and projects.

Our central Oxford office sits in the heart of Oxford’s thriving innovation ecosystem in the Oxford Centre for Innovation (twinned with the Wood Centre for Innovation in Headington), a hotbed for startup and early-stage businesses specialising in science and technology. We are experienced at developing and implementing bespoke IP strategies to help startup and scaleup businesses in the Oxfordshire innovation ecosystem achieve their commercial goals – whether it be for the purposes of protecting market share, securing investment, boosting valuation for exit or otherwise. The Oxford team has particular expertise in the fields of chemistry, materials science and physics, and regularly presents to local networks and accelerators/incubators. Our door is always open to companies looking for advice.
